Hello! As you know by now, my name is Jesse. I have been making a variety of hand-crafted instruments since 2002. The passion I have developed for art, music, culture, and life in general, has been ingrained into who I am for many years.

At the age of two I moved with my family to the East African nation of Kenya where we lived among the Maasai tribe for 11 years. These years gave me a love for nature and the wild, while immersing me in a tribal language and culture.
At the age of 13 I moved with my family for the second time. This time we moved to the southern European country of Portugal. It was during the 7 years that my family lived in Portugal that I began to make instruments. I began by making didgeridoos and djembes from the agave cactus that grew along the cliffs of the Portuguese coastline. In recent years I have started making birch cajons.
Making instruments started as a hobby inspired by a love for working with my hands and a love for music.  It has now developed into a business. The techniques I use in making my instruments have been developed and perfected through years of experience with careful attention to what was working and what was not. Because my time and energy are poured into every instrument, each one is the product of the cultures, countries, art, nature, music and people that I have been able to personally experience life with.
Currently I am studying environmental science in Santa Barbara, California, and making instruments whenever I can. I have three younger siblings, and my family is currently working in the city of Arusha, Tanzania. For however long we are based there, we will be working with a non-profit organization. Our dream is to love and help needy people there. This is expressed by caring for AIDS victims, assisting local schools and promoting education, helping families learn to support themselves through micro-enterprises, and developing a football (soccer) league for the youth there.
So that’s a little bit about me!  If you have any questions about me or my instruments, or you would simply like to talk, feel free to contact me at:
